Prince William and Kate Middleton royal wedding Barbie dolls unveiled

Each plastic model, measuring 11.5 inches tall, replicates the original wedding costumes worn by the royal couple who wed at Westminster Abbey on April 29 last year.

The Duchess of Cambridge doll will see Kate wearing a lace white dress and veil similar to the Alexander McQueen design she wore on her big day.

William will don his red Irish Guards uniform finished off with a blue Order of the Garter sash stitched with the RAF wings.

Launched to coincide with their one-year wedding anniversary, the dolls are aimed at adult collectors.

On sale from April, The Barbie Collector Royal Wedding William and Catherine Doll Set can be pre-ordered now on Amazon for ?99.99.

A spokesman for toy manufacturer Mattel said: 'Available in April timed to their one year wedding anniversary, the gift set features the two wearing outfits inspired by their regal wedding day attire.'

The pair follow in the footsteps of a number of other famous faces, including Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who have also been immortalised by the U.S. toy manufacturer.

But isn't the first time that the couple have been recreated in doll form.

Last August Hamleys unveiled the Prince William and Princess Catherine Engagement Dolls by British toy company Arklu costing ?100.?
