A Shabby Chic Baby Shower ?

I had the pleasure of going back to Columbia, MO a couple of weeks ago for my girlfriend Melody?s baby shower. ?She and her husband Kris are awaiting the arrival of a beautiful baby girl. ?(Isn?t Melody absolutely gorgeous ? such a stylish momma)

My friend Emily and her mom Polly threw the most amazing shabby/chic shower. ?What a great mother/daughter pair!

The shower was held at Polly?s ? a seasoned home with beautiful wood floors, great lighting and tons of character (I seriously love this house!).

This shower had some great touches ? my favorite being the candy bar. ?Emily did a great job putting together this candy bar. ?I loved the pink jelly beans!

Everyone was able to fill up their own individual pink tin with their favorite candy as a sweet parting gift.

Polly dug out some of Emily?s favorite old books for display ? I love the Corduroy Rabbit.

Polly put together some beautiful bouquets of wildflowers that filled the rooms. ?Melody also sent over some beautiful thank-you bouquets.

Em used different shaped plates and glasses.

Vintage pattern paper napkins.

To keep the shabby chic theme going, they incorporate old quilts around the room.

Everyone that came to the shower was able to write a sweet note or advice for Melody and Kris. ?They threw the note in this box for safe-keeping.

We played Baby Bingo ? which was easy and something fun for guests to do while Melody opened gifts.

Speaking of gifts ? isn?t this a fun sight?!

The best ingredient to a successful baby shower? ?The people! ?All of Melody?s family and friends came to support her, Kris and their new bundle of joy.
